A small, related aside
This post has quietly gotten traffic for years, which still surprises me given how simple it is. Since people continue to find their way here, I wanted to add something personal.
I don’t currently have artwork that directly reflects the quote above, but I did have a cat who was deeply invested in watching thresholds, doorways, and whatever might be happening just beyond them. These images of Boo Boo feel like a gentle companion to the idea of pausing, noticing, and choosing when to move forward.
If you need a small reminder to slow down, look closely, and step intentionally into what’s next, I hope these memories make you smile.
